Year of St. Paul/Paul’s theology of the Body of Christ: Charisms are not given for personal benefit, but fort he benefit of the body of Christ, the Church, as a whole. The body can function effectively only when all work together for the good of the whole (1 Cor 12:7.22-26). What is required, then, is not simply recognition of the different gifts/traditions of others (in warm ecumenical spirit), but the actual and active co-operation of the Christian in any place like Corinth, if Christ is to have effective presence in Corinth.

A second collection will be taken up on January 3rd and 4th for the work of the Catholic Justice and Peace Commission of Scotland.
